Biscuits



Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
Sift together:
1 3/4 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
3 tsp baking powder
add:
6 tbs chilled butter
cut butter into the mix until it's like coarse cornmeal. Make a well in the center and add all at once:
3/4 cup milk
stir, then knead lightly (8-10 folds) , roll out and cut.
Bake on ungreased sheet until lightly browned 12-15 minutes.
Makes about 12 biscuits.

2 cups self-rising flour
1 stick imperial margarine (1/4 lb)
cut w your pastry cutter until the whole thing looks like that coarse cornmeal mentioned earlier
make a well in the center and add
1 cup milk
stir and knead so lightly, roll out and cut.
bake on that ungreased sheet until browned (10-15 mins)
makes about 12 bisquits (as opa mouton calls them)
when cooking your bisquits, you may place them quite closely together on your baking sheet. that is all.
